On many of our tours it is common to see a wide variety of Alaskan wildlife, such as BALD EAGLES, MOUNTAIN GOATS, SEALS or BEARS. The experienced eye of an Alaska Seaplane Service pilot can often spot submerged HUMPBACK or KILLER WHALES, a rare thrill to view from the air, as you watch them breech and dive.
Alaska Seaplanes Service has a special WHALE WATCHING trip that leaves from the Juneau Airport and heads 40 miles west to POINT ADOLPHUS. At this location from mid June to mid September, HUMPBACK WHALES congregate after a long migration from the Baja peninsula. Up to 20 whales spend the summer feeding and playing, making for an ideal aerial photo opportunity.
Depending on the weather conditions at the time of the tour we recommend spending 1 1/2 hours in the air. Also this tour may be easily added to the special GLACIER BAY TOUR.
